1/13/21 progress post and what I want to do

 The type of opening scene I'm trying to create is most likely going to be is phycological horror or action. The reason I'm focusing on these two genres are simply because they attract my attention the most when I do watch them. I love a good comedy movie everyone does tear jerker movies are interesting as well. But I love the excitement in a horror movie when a character that has been seemingly good willed or dumb turns out to be the mastermind behind it all or the moment in action films where the main villain gets dealt with. Movies like the entire saw series and scream have always interested me. The twists in the story, the characters that slowly piece everything together, and the soundtrack and how it builds suspense slowly building up to the big reveal about who the killer was. The camera work in both genres are done perfectly with what type of story they are trying to build. With horror films going for dark and low shots that build suspense and suspicion and action movies and how they go for wide shots to show you the place where the action sequence is taking place.  Action movies sometimes take place in giant cities such as New York with the avenger movie or in barren post apocalyptic wastelands like the mad max movie. Horror movies like to take place in dark places that can seem normal but suddenly turn dark and scary like hospitals in many horror movies some like to take place outside at night or during Halloween. Horror movies that like to take place during Halloween take advantage of the setting and time and uses this to jump scare you. Making use of the costumes to scare the viewer thinking the killer is behind the person only the sike you out when it turns out to be just a random kid. These types of tropes are what make horror and action movies so appealing towards audiences and ultimately what I want in incorporate into my opening scene.
